Community Involvement

The Pearson Groups commitment to community engagement and corporate responsibility is driven by our company's belief in mentorship and skill development and education. They are the foundation of our corporate vision: the Pearson Group views community engagement as a key element to our long-term success. We give back in our community to the groups that we feel help meet this need. We have developed long term, strong relationships with not for profit groups that support education and skills training that help our young people to be successful.

The groups that we have focused on and provided workshops for the development of their teams are:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary: this organizations impacts the lives of young people and volunteers through the power of mentoring. Their vision is that every young person has a mentor.

Larry and Melinda have been involved in this organization in the Calgary area not only in providing professional development but also in the mentorship program. They have also given back at the National Level at their annual conferences.

Calgary Reads

Calgary Reads is an early literacy initiative changing the lives of struggling grade 1 and 2 readers and their families in Calgary and area schools.

Most reading problems are preventable with the application of effective early intervention. Research indicates there is an ideal window of opportunity (Kindergarten to Grade 2) in which a student’s basic literacy skills must be developed. Children most at risk often require consistent individual attention from trained adults, in addition to strong classroom literacy programs. Calgary Reads works within this window of opportunity.

Personally the Pearson family was involved in the volunteer side of this program and when the opportunity arose that they could help with the development of the staff team they welcomed it as a way to give back to a great community program.

Junior League of Calgary

The Junior League of Calgary (JLC) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our focus is strengthening families through education and support and our programs promote healthy and active living. Our values are commitment, community, friendship, integrity, leadership and training. Since 1950, the Junior League of Calgary has provided over $2,400,000 and 1,380,000 volunteer hours to the Calgary Community.

Melinda has been a member of this organization for 20 plus years and has been providing training to their new members group for the last 10 years.

Welcome To The Pearson Group

At the Pearson Group Inc. we believe there is one important factor that qualifies your success – whether it is personal or professional. It travels with you wherever you go: to work, home, community, lunchroom, restaurants, on the bus and in your car. It manifests itself inside of you when dealing with your boss, a fellow employee, a subordinate, your children or your spouse, and your clients! It has no religious bias or political affiliation. It has no height, colour, dimension, no discretionary income or home with two car garage. Yet everyone has it. The one factor is ATTITUDE. Our attitude is the only thing we ever have complete control over. That’s why our signature is “Change Your Attitude… Change Your World!” Are you ready to experience personal and professional success like you’ve never known before? Let The Pearson Group show you how!
